GREAT SINGAPORE SALE IS NOW ON!!!

“SHOP TILL YOU DROP”… This is a common phrase you will hear in Singapore. Singapore is a shopper’s paradise ranging from luxury goods to bargain electronics, and undoubtedly you will find plenty to pack into your suitcase. The most looked out event by both locals and travellers is the “Great Singapore Sale”. This is usually held for a period of two months in the middle of the year with great discounts for many items. The main shopping district is the fame Orchard Road area. However Singapore is not just limited to one shopping area. Besides Orchard Road, Bugis, Vivo, there are still many other places where one can get good shopping done. Especially if you love to be unique!

Ethnic Zones & Markets

Chinatown - A great place for all the Singapore souvenirs you can get for the folks back home, which are extremely affordable. You can also find antiques and handicrafts in Chinatown Point. There is also an array of stalls lining the streets selling everything from food and fashion to handicrafts, art and antiques and are often more popular in the evenings.

Sungei Road Thieve’s Market - One of the oldest flea markets where thieves used to sell stolen wares, the market is now lined up with curios and vintage goods. Take a good look at the merchandise available, and you may be able to find a really good antique or vintage buy.

Little India - Be prepared for an overpowering of the senses from the smell of jasmine garland and spices to the colourful silk saris and the sparkling of gold jewellery. Little India also houses Mustafa Centre, a 24-hour shopping mall selling a wide array of products from clothes to electronics, at one of the lowest fixed price shops in Singapore.

Kampong Glam & Geylang Serai - Once the seat of Malay royalty and the designated Malay-Muslim enclave from the early 1800s, Kampong Glam now offers a trove of hidden delights ranging from the silk batik or sarong to a wonderful array of beautiful jewellery.

There’s no doubt about it that I love to go shopping (or issit thrifting??) in these places. Who knows the exact reason why I love it but to me it’s finding awesome things for dirt cheap! These places have cheap and full of treasures just waiting for me!!
